CSH Surrey

Director of Nursing and Quality

In 2017, CSH Surrey became the county's largest out of hospital provider, delivering safe, high quality health services to more than one million adults, children, young people and their families. CSH Surrey works with primary care and other partners to deliver tangible health outcomes through a forward-thinking, skilled and committed workforce. In April 2017, CSH Surrey mobilised two new contracts to run North West Surrey adults’ and the Surrey-wide children’s contract, on-boarding over 900 new staff. CSH Surrey now employs more than 1,400 nurses, therapists and support staff, all of whom are partners in CSH Surrey’s success as an employee-owned social enterprise. This substantial growth in service delivery and staff numbers reflects the significant opportunities ahead, as well as challenges facing the organisation.

The Director of Nursing and Quality will be joining a highly experienced and new team set on ensuring that CSH Surrey operates as an exceptional provider, instilling a culture of pride and excitement while building success. Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Director of Nursing and Quality will lead organisation-wide improvements in the quality of care and patient/client experience through engendering a culture which encourages innovation, creativity and learning across all settings. Externally, this position presents a key opportunity for the Director of Nursing and Quality to play an active role across the region, acting as an exemplar of nursing leadership. Alongside the Medical Director, the Director of Nursing and Quality will work closely with Surrey CCGs, local primary care providers and Trusts, improving health and well-being across the patch.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of establishing quality standards across a complex healthcare organisation. Their demonstrable track record of visible leadership and success will likely include delivery of quality improvement and change beyond nursing. Some experience in the community care sector will be an advantage. The successful candidate will bring resilience, credibility, integrity and creativity to the role, and will be passionate about providing the highest standards of patient care.
