Job summary
Following the expansion of the ARRS GP role from April 2026, we are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking PCN.
Under the updated 2026/27 ARRS guidance, this post is open to any GP with full GMC registration who has not held a substantive post within a Core Network Practice of Wolverhampton North Network in the previous 12 months. Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced GP looking for a fresh challenge, we would love to hear from you.
You will have the flexibility to work up to 6 sessions per week, with no minimum commitment, allowing you to shape the role around your professional goals.

Main duties of the job
You will undertake a varied and fulfilling clinical role, including:
- In-person, telephone and online consultations
- Triage and on-call duties
- Home and nursing home visits
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Referrals to secondary care and other providers
- Clinical administration and correspondence

Clinical:
- Make autonomous clinical decisions for patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Initiate investigations, review results and make appropriate referrals
- Develop care and treatment plans in line with NICE guidance and practice protocols
- Record clear, contemporaneous notes to agreed standards using EMIS
- Compile and issue computer-generated prescriptions in line with practice formulary and BNF guidance
- Participate in clinical audit, significant event analysis and practice meetings
- Support achievement of QOF and Enhanced Services targets
Professional Development:
- Participate in annual appraisal and personal development review
- Maintain up-to-date mandatory training (CPR, Fire Safety, Information Governance)
- Utilise allocated study leave
- Contribute to the educational life of the practice through audits and learning events
PCN & Practice Organisation:
- Process and action patient and hospital correspondence
- Attend in-house and PCN-level meetings as required
- Adhere to the PCN complaints system and all relevant policies
- Maintain compliance with data protection, confidentiality and health and safety requirements
