Job summary

This is an excellent opportunity to join Akari Care as a Kitchen Assistant, where you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen processes in one of their award-winning care homes. You will work closely with the Cook and the wider catering team to provide personalized care and support to the residents, catering to their individual dietary and cultural needs.

Main duties of the job

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be involved in all the practical duties expected in a busy care home kitchen, including creating menus, plating up, arranging trollies, and ensuring each resident feels directly supported and cared for. You will be the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas, and your key focus will be ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience for the residents. You will need to be mindful and conscious of individual religious and cultural backgrounds, and how this might impact meal choices, to ensure all residents feel they have a personalized service.

As the critical link between the kitchen and the serving areas you will be conjointly responsible for caring for our residents. The key focus for us is ensuring mealtimes run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience at Akari Care, where all our residents individual needs are catered for.
