Akari Care is seeking an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to make a positive difference in the lives of older people. The role involves planning and executing a variety of engaging activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of residents, while fostering a supportive, caring, and inclusive environment. The successful candidate will have experience in a similar setting, a caring nature, and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs.
Main duties of the job
The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for helping and engaging residents to socialize within the home. This includes providing a variety of activities that cater for all tastes, abilities, cultures and, respecting everyone as an individual, ensuring that you promote diversity and inclusion at all stages. The role also involves planning and initiating rolling / individual programmes, encouraging residents to maintain pre-existing hobbies and try new activities. The coordinator will actively assist with innovative fundraising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment, materials, and outings, demonstrating creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.
