Job summary

Akari Care is seeking a Maintenance Operative who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of older people. This hands-on role will involve a variety of maintenance tasks, including internal decoration, grounds maintenance, building repairs, and utilities management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the home manager and maintenance team to ensure high standards are continuously met, while being mindful of the individual needs and backgrounds of the residents.

Main duties of the job

As a Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring the high standards of maintenance in and around the Akari Care home. This will include tasks such as internal decoration, grounds maintenance and safety, building repairs, supplies, and utilities management. You will work closely with the home manager and wider maintenance team to address any challenges that arise, while always being respectful and supportive of the individual needs of residents and colleagues. Systematic attention to all areas of the home and imparting your knowledge to others to maintain the same high standards will be key. By demonstrating a desire for personalised excellence, community spirit, and a kind, caring, and compassionate nature, you can develop your skills and knowledge to support vulnerable adults with the care they require.
