Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator at Akari Care, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive activity program that caters to the individual needs and preferences of the residents. This includes planning and organizing a variety of activities, such as arts and crafts, music, games, outings, and social events. You will collaborate with the Home Manager and the wider care team to ensure that the activities are tailored to the residents' abilities, cultures, and interests. By actively engaging the residents, their relatives, and friends, you will foster a sense of community and enrich the lives of those in your care. Additionally, you will assist with innovative fundraising initiatives and budgeting to support the residents' activities. The successful candidate will possess a caring nature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work flexibly and adapt to changes at short notice.

Through willingly accompanying residents, where possible, to offsite activities, you will go above and beyond for our residents.

In actively assisting with innovative fund-raising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment, materials, and outings, you will enjoy thinking creatively and out of the box with regards to ways in which additional funds can be raised to support our residents activities. You will help to ensure that you and your colleagues create an environment which is supportive, caring and kind and undertake all duties in a way which provides a secure and safe atmosphere in which our residents are valued, respected, retain their individualism and dignity in order to lead full lives.
