An exciting opportunity has arisen within SWAN Primary Care Network (PCN) to recruit a PCN Administrator. We are looking for a motivated, ambitious individual who will support the delivery of SWAN PCNs vision and contractual requirements and play a pivotal role in the delivery of high-quality healthcare within SWAN PCN.

The Primary Care Network (PCN) administrator will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the PCN and will work closely with the, PCN Manager and other PCN Team members as well as the individual practices within the network.

Main duties of the job

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answering inbound telephone calls and professionally handling their enquiries, taking accurate messages, and redirecting through to the necessary staff member.
  • Meet and greet patients, staff, and other visitors in a polite and professional manner.
  • Monitor daily emails, correspondence and patient administration and deal with any queries/actions in a professional manner.
  • Booking and cancelling appointments for patients as well referring patients to internal and external services following the PCN processes and policies.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail.
  • Support the management of practice websites / social media updates.
  • Updating and sharing the PCN Newsletter and communications with the support of the PCN Management team.
  • Monitoring PCN equipment and stock levels, anticipating needed supplies; placing orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; scheduling equipment service and repairs.
  • Provide general admin support to the PCN Teams & practices and any other admin related work as provided by the PCN Manager and PCN Teams.
  • Support the monitoring of mandatory training of PCN staff members.
  • Offer administrative support to our care home team.

SWAN PCN constitutes 7 GP practices, located in South Wigan Ashton North area, with a collective patient population of 35,500. The practices include Marus Bridge Practice, South Wigan Medical Practice, Medicentre, Bryn Cross Surgery, Winstanley Medical Centre, The Grange Practice and Kumar Family Practice.

We believe we are the optimum size to enable us to work effectively together, maintain our practice identity and improve patient services and health outcomes.
