We are excited to invite applications for the position of Clinical Medical Lead at our newly launched Co-Located UTC at QMC, near ED. This is a unique chance to be at the forefront of primary care, leading a team of talented professionals committed to delivering exceptional urgent treatment services to our community.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a deputy clinical leader for the existing medical director; working primarily at our Urgent Treatment Centre based at QMC. They will work operationally with the NEMS Management Team.
The core purpose of this post is to provide clinical support and development to the clinical workforce through training and feedback. The post holder will provide support to the Medical Director, Clinical Director, salaried doctors and nursing staff and take responsibility for the leadership, planning and delivery of effective clinical services and effective team-working for their designated clinical areas.
Specifically, the Clinical Medical Lead will support the Medical Director and Clinical Director in delivering a financially sound business unit which provides good clinical care in accordance with healthcare standards
The post holder will be key in any new developments to further develop the Co-Located UTC. This is a part of the NHS Long Term Plan to develop Urgent Treatment Centres with a view to help improve patient flow and allow ED colleagues to concentrate on the high volume of patients requiring majors or resus. Therefore, the postholder will develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, use their clinical expertise, and demonstrate their managerial experience, to aid the development of the service to ensure NEMS continues to provide exceptional patient care.

NEMS currently operates 3 main services: (1) Integrated Urgent Care across Nottinghamshire serving a patient population of over 1 million, including home visiting, remote consultation and clinical assessment services; (2) Urgent Primary care provision located within the A&E Department at QMC, (3) A 24-hour walk-in urgent primary care service adjacent to Kings Mill Hospital A&E, Mansfield.
