We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Weight Management Coach (Adults including pregnant woman Specialist) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role focuses exclusively on supporting adults, including pregnant women, to achieve healthier lifestyles. You will provide Tier 2 weight management support to clients to make positive changes that impact their weight and in doing so their wider health and wellbeing.
The service you will be part of aims to reduce obesity and improve health outcomes across Liverpool, focusing on both nutritional and physical activity interventions.
As a senior coach, you will be responsible for both delivering interventions directly to clients and providing line management to a team of Weight Management Coaches. You will ensure your team delivers high-quality services, adhering to best practices, and that your clients receive compassionate, effective support. Your leadership will guide the team to meet service goals while promoting professional development and a collaborative working environment.
In your specialised role, you will work with adults including pregnant women, addressing their unique weight management needs. This includes, supporting pregnant women to maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy, providing postpartum weight loss guidance, and offering advice on nutrition and weaning for early years, in collaboration with other health professionals.
This is a key role in reducing health inequalities, and priority will be given to engaging with deprived communities, ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and other under-represented groups.
You will have the ability to support clients in community settings and virtually via phone/video calls. You will also support clients in one-to-one and group sessions. You will also manage your own caseload and support your team to manage theirs effectively.
This role will need to have the ability to travel independently within the Liverpool area and so you will need to be able to drive and own a car as the role involves work in various community settings. You will also be required to travel to the Wirral office from time to time for training and team meetings.
Salary Range: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum.

Experience in delivering weight management or lifestyle change support specifically targeting adults.
Proven experience in line managing or supervising a team, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
Understanding of health inequalities and experience working with diverse populations, including ethnic minorities and individuals from deprived areas.
IT literate with experience in using online communication methods and maintaining accurate data records.
GCSE level English and Mathematics or equivalent.
Willing to undertake training and development as required to carry out duties of the post.
What youll do?
Programme Delivery Adults and Pregnant Women:
- Deliver Tier 2 weight management interventions specifically for adults, including pregnant women, focusing on weight loss, weight maintenance, and prevention of weight regain.
- Provide tailored behavioural support to pregnant women, promoting healthy weight management during pregnancy and offering postnatal advice on weight loss, nutrition, and weaning in early years. Collaborate closely with health visitors and breastfeeding providers.
- Utilise a person-centred approach that incorporates both the emotional and behavioural aspects of weight management, ensuring clients understand the relationship between emotions and food, and receive appropriate tools and referrals for emotional support.
Client Engagement and Wellbeing:
- Engage clients with a compassionate, person-centred approach, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing are central to the intervention.
- Provide ongoing coaching, adapting interventions to meet clients' evolving needs and support them in achieving sustainable health outcomes.
- Ensure inclusivity in all interventions, considering the cultural, social, and physical needs of different client groups.
Line Management of Weight Management Coaches:
- You will line manage a team of Weight Management Coaches delivering specialised coaching across the service, overseeing their performance, ensuring high standards of service delivery, and providing support, supervision, and mentoring.
- Lead regular performance appraisals, one-to-one meetings, and team meetings to drive a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Ensure continuous professional development opportunities are available to your team, encouraging a culture of shared learning and innovation.
Health Inequalities and Priority Groups:
- Prioritise service delivery to adults in deprived communities and under-represented groups such as ethnic minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, and pregnant women.
- Ensure that the service is accessible and responsive to the unique challenges these groups face in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight.
Community Engagement and Partnerships:
- Build strong partnerships with GPs, midwives, community organisations, and other stakeholders to ensure a whole-systems approach to weight management for adults, including pregnant women.
- Promote the weight management service through outreach activities, workshops, and community events aimed at increasing access to the service.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Collect, evaluate, and report data using validated tools to monitor the effectiveness of interventions and ensure that outcomes are aligned with national and local guidelines.
- Continuously improve service delivery based on data insights and client feedback to ensure best practices are followed in accordance with NICE guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of all client interactions using the service CRM (Best-You), ensuring timely follow-up and support for clients.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Provide excellent levels of customer service and coaching support in both individual and group settings. Ensure the service is client-centred and responsive to individual needs.
- Health Promotion: Offer general health and lifestyle advice, including on healthy eating, physical activity, and stress management, and refer clients to additional services when necessary.
- Project Development: Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, working with the Service Lead to expand and enhance the weight management offer for adults and pregnant women.
- Safeguarding: Comply with safeguarding policies, reporting any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of adults and pregnant women in line with the organisations procedures.
- Observe and comply with employees obligations under Health and Safety policy and law.

What youll bring
