Job summary

As Engagement Lead you will lead and manage engagement activities for the services and provide support with the day to day running of teams and the services overall.

You will own the engagement planning and delivery for the Stop Smoking Service to promote and encourage residents and patients living across Devon to access the services for health support and screening.

You will develop an annual engagement plan in collaboration with the Service Lead and Comms & Marketing Director and be accountable for delivering engagement activities locally with stakeholders, workplaces, and communities.

You will also engage in with clinical and non-clinical relevant stakeholders, deliver engaging presentations and trainings, attend meetings and create opportunities internally and externally to ensure the stop smoking service in Devon receives the necessary number of appropriate referrals to sustain and grow service outcome achievement.

Main duties of the job

  • To make sure Services, workplaces and organisations within Devon are aware and are appropriately referring into the services, including but not limited to GP Surgeries, Hospitals, Activity Providers, Weight Management providers, NDPP, Pharmacies, Council, Third /voluntary sector, and other private organisations.
  • To give direction to the team of coaches and advisors for engagements within our community, to follow up and ensure tasks are completed.

To ensure the Services receives enough referrals to ensure target attainment for the services vision of reducing health inequalities and improving health outcomes for the people of Devon, specifically in the most deprived areas and for our priority groups.

Co-Create, oversee, plan, manage & lead the Engagement Plan. Maximising our service coverage where people need to know about us most.

The role

Key elements of the day-to-day role:

You will Identify and seek out areas of greatest need and deprived community areas that would most benefit to reduce health inequalities.

Lead on the development of service user feedback including a volunteer/ambassador scheme for local people.

Organise meetings (F2F / Virtual / Digital) with community leaders and organisations to increase uptake of referrals into Stop Smoking Service.

Management of Stakeholder comms

Liaise with the ICE Creates marketing agency to engage in and inform the marketing plans and campaigns for the services.

Be the first contact for the Services engagement, the face of the service to most stakeholders.

Ensure an active marketing presence of the services within hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies. Community centres and other areas, specifically in deprived communities.

Service engagement development planning and marketing

Maintain and develop excellent relationships with key clients in the sector and develop good relationships with key stakeholders and potential clients in the sector.

Regularly presenting the Service within organisations that could refer to the services to ensure an increased uptake of referrals and continual appropriate referrals.

Tackling inappropriate referrals by contacting referring individuals.

Targeting and Increasing referrals from our Priority Groups by building and maintaining relationships with different sectors of the community.

Stakeholder relationships, analysis, and development.

Regular attendance at health and wellbeing meetings across the county as well as identifying and attending local partner meetings to discuss the Service.

Communicate effectively with partners within the voluntary and community sectors, statutory services, and other organisations.

Great in-person and telephone manner, in person communication skills and a lover of digital networking too!

To have a robust understanding of all aspects of the Service and any future aspects of the Service.

Support the team in identifying and delivering engagements in defined areas as directed by yourself.

Lead on developing regular Engagement Reports including engagement statistics and figures.

Service KPI for monthly and quarterly referral targets.

Reinforce the ICE approach and values both on the project and internal initiatives.

Representing the Company to existing and potential clients, creating, networking, developing, maintaining business relationships, from initial contact through to ensure continuous relationships, growth, and profitability.

To work with other teams in ICE to develop promotion planning and execution bespoke to the Devon area.

You must be a car driver with access to a car and able to travel across Devon as well as out-of-county work. o be a member of Devons Senior Leadership Team.

To lead, manage and coordinate the team regarding engagements.

To performance manage team aligned to their KPIs and targets.
