The Role
Oakdale has recently enjoyed a period of growth and taken on several new commissions. Our multi-disciplinary team is now engaged in a number of collaborations with the NHS, supporting local CAMHS services and offering a Neurodevelopmental Assessment service to children and adults who are referred to us by our NHS partners, through Right to Choose via their GP, or who contact Oakdale directly for a private assessment.
As a result, we are seeking to recruit Clinical/ Forensic or Counselling Psychologists to join our team, and can offer varied and rewarding work in a number of contexts - with an opportunity to help us shape and deliver our much needed and valued services.
We are keen to hear from Clinical/ Forensic or Counselling psychologists looking for a salaried role and who are interested in working with children, young people and/or adults within a neurodevelopmental assessment and support team. Oakdale is an agile organisation able to offer full or part time employed or flexible hours. We are also interested in hearing from candidates who are looking for s role in leeds either full or part time as well as candidates who would like a fully remote role and therefore do not need to be based in or near Yorkshire.
Main duties of the job
Job Description
To be part of a multidisciplinary team in delivering assessments for Autism and ADHD, responsible for assessing risk, developing clinical formulations and providing recommendations for children, adults, families and other community partners, e.g. schools.
Supervision of Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists
To implement a range of evidence-based psychological interventions, make evaluations and decisions about treatment options, and monitor outcomes to ensure effectiveness for your own caseload
Interpretation and integration of psychological data for different Oakdale services to inform care provision - including self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care
To provide all clinical assessments and interventions in line with Oakdales policies and operating procedures
To maintain adherence to NICE guidelines and Oakdales clinical standards
To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings and reviews
To maintain accurate case records on Oakdales case management system, including clinical observations, clinical notes, tests and other associated data according to Oakdales operating procedures
To participate in regular clinical supervision
To participate in service development initiatives

Our services are also accessed by members of the public who pay for them privately, through medical insurance or through our charitable arm.
Oakdale has clinical centres in Harrogate, Leeds and Halifax and also delivers services from other consulting rooms in the North of England and remotely on a nationwide basis.

Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate doctoral qualification in clinical, Forensic or counseling psychology (or equivalent)
- HCPC registration
- A working knowledge of child and adult safeguarding legislation
- Experience/knowledge of clinical risk assessment
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to use a computer competently, with a broad base of IT skills
- The ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise workload
- Strong literacy and report writing skills, with excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience of managing complex caseloads and applying a range of interventions
