Job summary

Vranch House is a flourishing, well-respected charity with a small school for children aged 2-19 with complex physical difficulties and a large out-patient therapy service providing Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy across Devon. The charity is jointly commissioned by the local CCG and Devon County Council and is the hub of the area neurodisability team.

We are seeking to appoint a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our busy, energetic and supportive multidisciplinary Therapy Team. We require the successful applicant to have at least 3 year's experience working as a occupational therapist post-qualification.

The post-holder will be responsible for a clinical caseload providing OT assessments, treatment and advice to children with a wide variety of neurological conditions and fine motor disorders within the community as well as Vranch House school pupils

The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills, and a polite and professional manner.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for their own caseload, carrying out assessments and review appointments. As well as carrying out independent occupational therapy assessments they will also deliver combined assessments working alongside an physiotherapist.

As well as one-to-one appointments clinical interventions may include group sessions, school visits and advise to carers and parents as well as clinical interactions alongside other staff in the school setting.

The caseload will consist of children with a wide range of conditions ranging from development coordination disorder hypermobility to cerebral palsy and life-limiting conditions.

The post is full time (37.5 hours per week) and is based at Vranch House in Exeter (external visits to patients at their mainstream schools or to attend meetings or training will occasionally be necessary so a full manual UK driving licence is required).
