Clinical Care
Act as an advanced practitioner, demonstrating advanced clinical competence and knowledge.
Carrying our lesion photo clinics and to complete procedures related to these.
Triage of suitable referrals for lesion photo clinics.
Triage patients presenting as walk-ins to the appropriate service.
Undertake consultations, both face-to-face and via the telephone, with patients of all ages (neonate to elderly) as an autonomous practitioner and using own clinical judgement to diagnose, treat, refer and/or discharge patients.
Make direct referrals to primary, secondary, and social care services within locally agreed pathways, guidance, and protocols.
Where required, support clinicians in clinic for skin procedure or dermatology clinics (rare but may be required).
Provide clinical advice to support staff and clinicians where required.
Ensure that patients receive high quality clinical care, delivered in a timely manner.
Ensure complete and accurate documentation of every patient contact.
Work as a practitioner as part of multi-disciplinary and multiagency teams to ensure patients needs are met.
Communication
Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding complex information about their care.
Provide advice and information to patients, carers, and their families where appropriate.
Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health professionals and operational staff to ensure delivery of a coordinated service.
Ensure accurate record keeping in line with local policies and professional guidelines.
Promote and demonstrate effective communication networks within the organisation, with partner organisations and other service providers.
Clinical Governance and Service Improvement
Work with the Head of Operations to:
Roll out lesion photo clinics across the country to new and existing contracts
Provide clinical leadership to other members of the team
Manage all governance aspects in relation to the lesion photo clinic pathway, auditing, and monitoring
Investigate adverse clinical incidents and complaints
Develop and implement clinical audits identifying areas of best practice and areas for improvement
Train and audit others to effectively carry out lesion photo clinics
Manage all technical aspects with the provider of the software in use
Assess the practice of colleagues and juniors
Provide support and supervise to assist others to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities
Contribute to quality improvement within the service through the identification and initiation of changes, which lead to better evidence-based practice and improved standards of care
Set and monitor standards of care
Help develop the services available to the primary care population to address identified needs
Adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Educational/Personal Development
Work with the Head of Operations to:
Develop and maintain an excellent learning environment
Develop and implement a range of learning activities for the service
Support the development of other members of the clinical team
Participate in defining own developmental plan to maintain and develop own clinical skills and ensure own professional development
Undertake and complete all statutory and mandatory training
Participate in an appraisal and regular performance reviews
Ensure that all mandatory training is completed in line with organisational policy
Maintain profession registration requirements i.e., NMC, etc.

Be aware of and comply with all infection prevention and control policies & mandatory training; all staff must adhere to infection control measures to promote cleanliness and reduce infections, e.g., hand hygiene, clutter free work environment.

The work is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the recognized course of duty. Unauthorised disclosure of confidential information will result in disciplinary action and may lead to your dismissal.
