Main duties of the job

About the Role

As our Digital and AI Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of AI and digital projects, from scoping and business case development to implementation and adoption.
  • Identify and prioritise AI and automation opportunities to streamline processes and improve working practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, technical partners, and vendors to develop and deploy cutting-edge solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with information governance and data sharing requirements.
  • Share learnings and best practices across the organisation to foster a culture of innovation.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in successfully managing change projects across the full lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of AI and digital solutions in practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines.

Desirable:

  • Formal training in AI or project management.
  • Experience implementing AI and digital solutions in healthcare.

JOB SUMMARY

The AI and Digital Project Manager will lead the delivery of innovative digital and AI-driven projects across the organisation. This role involves managing end-to-end project lifecycles, from initial scoping and business case development to mobilisation and governance, ensuring the successful implementation and adoption of digital solutions that enhance operational efficiency and patient care.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST

Main duties and responsibilities of the post:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritise AI and Automation use cases: Undertake problem analysis to identify where AI can be used to gain efficiencies and improve working practices.
  • Implement and develop AI and Automation solutions: Work on creating and deploying AI and automation solutions, acting as technical project manager, collaborating with Senior Leaders, external advisors and technical partners to find and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Lead and manage the life cycle of digital innovations from options appraisals for projects, governance, mobilisation, to final deployment.
  • To work with the CSO and Digital Director to keep the Clinical Risk Management File up to date for each product.
  • Document and share learnings from AI and digital solutions across the DHC Family, through a range of communications channels. This could include creating SOP templates and sharing updates as new features of a product are developed
  • To ensure the governance requirements of products are met, including information governance and data sharing aspects
  • Actively contribute to effective communication within the project team and with others across the organisation
  • Vendor management, including leading the relationship between DHC and various technical suppliers for current and future projects related to the AI workstream. This could include attendance at relevant digital and health technology conferences. To support building relationships for partnership/pilots, stay aware of market developments, and understand upcoming products and functionality before they are widely adopted
  • Ensure that the organisations business and information systems are used to optimal benefit, working closely with the IT team, AI champions and Senior leaders
  • Working with the Directors to pursue IT capital funding opportunities and develop business cases, so timely bids can be created when funding opportunities arise.

Strategic Leadership

  • Demonstrates effective leadership consistent with the Federation's values
  • To contribute to ongoing improvement, including a regular review of current DHC practice, with a focus on where new technologies could improve efficiency and value for money
  • Working with the Directors and Senior management to showcase developments and share learnings with system partners to ensure DHCs work in these areas is visible to those who may provide funding

The Digital and AI Project Manager will work across the entire DHC organisation, reporting to the COO, but working in close partnership with the IT team and the DHC Director responsible for AI and digital innovation.

INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to DHC policies and procedures and relevant legislation, including the requirements of any professional bodies, and attend mandatory training as identified by DHC. Be particularly aware of the importance of Equality and Diversity, ensuring that all colleagues, patients, clients and visitors are dealt with in line with DHC policy.
  • To manage own workload efficiently and effectively on a daily basis. Maintain confidentiality at all times.
