Job summary

It is an exciting time to join DHC Outpatients, as we are launching a brand new site in Warlingham Green. We are also getting busier at our other sites and looking to expand our existing team. The role will be mainly based at 3 of our sites: Elizabeth House in Warlingham Green, Oxted Health Centre in Oxted and Holmhurst Medical Centre in Redhill. We also operate out of Dorking Hospital and Epsom Old Cottage Hospital; Travel to these sites would be ad hoc for training and unplanned absence cover. Dorking is our largest site, which means some of your training will likely be carried out there. The ability to drive and to have your own means of transportation would be highly beneficial.

This role is responsible for providing clinical support to the Consultants and Medical Staff of DHC.

The successful applicant would cover a wide variety of clinic specialities, gaining experience in many areas. They will also hold nurse-led clinics, such as conducting Spirometry, FeNO, taking blood pressure, applying Holter cardiac monitoring devices and height and weight measurements.

Our regular hours of work could be between 07:45 and 21:00 Monday to Friday and Saturday 08:00-18:00. Saturday shifts are shared within the nursing team and it is likely that the successful candidate would be required to work 1 weekend in 4. The nursing team consists of 13 people, with a mixture of registered nurses and healthcare assistants.

Main duties of the job

The ideal applicant will have excellent attention to detail, computer literacy, the ability to maintain confidentiality, confidence to speak up when acting as a chaperone. As well as the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, and to remain calm under pressure.

No candidate will meet every single desired qualification. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified and you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to learn more about you!

Full training will be given to the right applicant.

About us

This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of our organisation as we are going through a period of growth and looking to recruit a passionate Healthcare Assistant to our professional and friendly team.

The role will be based within Outpatients and will involve working across 3 sites. We offer a good working environment in a friendly, progressive team.

Dorking Healthcare (DHC) is an organisation that provides a wide range of quality healthcare services in Surrey and Sussex. We are registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) and we are an accredited AQP (Any Qualified Provider). In our CQC inspection we were rated as Good. Our vision is to continually improve local services for patients by offering first-class care and shorter waiting times.

A can-do attitude is a vital asset at DHC and we are looking for like-minded individuals to work with us who share the same approach and work ethic.

The benefits we offer include:

  • Competitive salaries
  • Membership of the NHS pension scheme
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with length of service
  • Opportunities for training and development
  • Some of our sites have free on-site parking (subject to availability)

We aim to be an employer of choice and conduct annual staff satisfaction surveys.
