working as a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) within the Dorking Primary Care Network (PCN) and within the MSK Outpatients department
with the opportunity to work as an extended scope practitioner. You will be
part of a dynamic, forward thinking organisation delivering high standards of

is a provider of Outpatient services, you will also be supported by experts in
the MSK field, with great opportunities for skills development and career
progression. FCPs are well respected and understood within the practices and
are seen as an important part of the diverse Practice team.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to be Registered as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) with a minimum of 3 years musculoskeletal experience and demonstrate working at Level 7 (within the ACP framework) capability in MSK related areas of practice or equivalent (such as advanced assessment diagnosis and treatment), have proven physiotherapy experience and preferably completed stage 1 of the HEE Roadmap to Practice.
The role:
1. Provide clinical expertise, acting as first-contact physiotherapist and making decisions about the best course of action for patients' care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions).
2. To provide a high standard of physiotherapy service to musculoskeletal outpatients referred by DHC consultants.
3.The opportunity to work as an ESP within the MSK triage clinic within a MDT setting. Performing the triage of orthopaedic referrals from GPs, referring for appropriate imaging and directing patient to the appropriate primary, secondary or tertiary care service according to clinical presentation.
This is a permanent role, full or part time will be considered with flexibility between primary care and MSK out-patient services.

Job Purpose:

4.Deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimise individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfilment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions.
5.To provide a highly skilled physiotherapy assessment, education, advice and treatment service to outpatients referred by DHC consultants. Patient conditions will include musculoskeletal conditions (including post-operative orthopaedics) arthritic conditions, and patients presenting with acute, chronic and or complex spinal pain.
6.To participate in the departments ongoing audit and appropriate work-related research/ evaluation projects in areas relevant to the clinical field.
