Tyneside Surgical Services (tss) is an independent provider of NHS care located in the North East of England. Our team dedicates itself to providing knowledgeable and integrated surgical services to patients. We carry out a number of elective surgical procedures across eight different specialties.
Established in 2007, the company has continued to grow and has now developed a day-case facility within Team Valley in Gateshead. The new facility comprises of theatre, a day-case unit, endoscopy and outpatient clinic facilities.
We are seeking highly motivated and dynamic individuals with excellent communication skills to provide first class patient care in our new facility. These are exciting new roles and will suit enthusiastic, flexible and motivated individuals.

Main duties of the job
Job Responsibilities
Act as an Operator under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations, assess clinical justification of referrals to ensure that the benefit to the patient outweighs the radiations risk associated with the examination.
Act as a patient and staff advocate by minimizing their exposure to radiation.
Provide efficient and courteous provision of radiographic services to the departments agreed standards whilst taking into account the patients clinical, physical and cultural needs.
To participate in the departmental Rota, being flexible in responding to service needs.
Assess clinical workload, communicate work priorities and organize work load in conjunction with other team members.
To work effectively as part of a team with respective work area.
Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of imaging equipment, reporting faults to senior staff and directly to the manufacturer/service provider when necessary.
Welcome patients, visitor and staff to the department and deal with enquiries in a kind & courteous manner.
Communicate with refers any referral queries after assessing clinical justification for an x-ray examination against (IR(ME)r and local protocols, prior to undertaking the examination.
Communicate information relating to procedure to patients & ensure informed consent for examinations is obtained.
Give factual information to patients, regarding examinations and the necessary preparations.
