Theatre Nurse (Bank)

Job summary

To deliver high quality care for patients undergoing Vasectomy surgery under local anaesthetic, in a Community setting. Working from 2 locations, Norwich and Great Yarmouth and travelling to each sites will be essential. Actively participate in preparing patients, act as scrub nurse to the Urologist and then discharging the patient.Ensure efficient use of stock and report back any deficiencies.

Main duties of the job

Is responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of care and assists in the interpretation of data relevant to the patients condition and progress

Gives skilled care to patients and provides support to their carers

Safe management of drugs and treatments as prescribed according to the NMC/ HCPC guidelines for the Safe and Secure Handling of Medicines

To be an effective member of the operating theatre team.

To participate in the assessment of patients suitability for day surgery and communicate information gained through this role.

To maintain up-to-date patient records.

Provides assistance to surgeons in the form of the dual role i.e. scrub and first assistance when necessary and under guidance from senior medical staff.
