We're excited to offer a temporary opportunity for a
Receptionist/Secretary to join our friendly team, covering maternity leave for
one of our valued colleagues. This role is set to begin on Monday 27th October
and will last for 9 months.
As part of our busy practice, you will play a key role in
delivering high-quality patient care by providing efficient and compassionate
administrative support. From day one, you'll have access to the tools,

Main duties of the job
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members
of the Practice administration team include supporting clinicians with tasks, providing excellent patient care and maintaining the practice bookings system. Duties may be varied
from time to time under the direction of the Operations /Practice Manager,
dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels.
This is a diverse and varied role where no 2 days are the same, so a willingness to adapt is essential, as well as enjoying working as part of a team and supporting others.
About us
Situated in the heart of Richmond, Sheffield, we are a
dynamic 4 partner surgery with a patient list size of 9,900. Our practice falls
within the boundary of South Yorkshire ICB and we are part of the collaborative
2 Townships PCN which consists of 5 practices.
We are a patient centric practice with a family orientated
approach and are keen advocates of Greener Practice credentials. Rated Good
by the CQC, we are a patient-focused, high-performing practice, consistently
achieving strong results in QOF.
Our multidisciplinary team includes 5 other salaried GPs, 4
practice nurses, 3 healthcare assistants, as well as an experienced
administrative and reception team. Our ARRs roles include a physiotherapist,
social prescribers, an occupational therapist, HCA and pharmacists.
As an accredited training practice, we provide education for
GP trainees. Our team of Partners are experienced trainers committed to
mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

- Maintaining and monitoring the Practice
appointments system on SystmOne.

Processing personal and telephone requests for
appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensuring callers are
directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.

Taking messages and passing on information

Filing/Scanning and retrieving paperwork

Processing repeats prescriptions in accordance
with Practice guidelines

Computer data entry/data allocation and
collation; processing and recording information in accordance with Practice
procedures

Initiating contact with and responding to
requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies
and providers
-
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms as
required
-
Providing clerical assistance as required
including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning

Monitoring of stationery/clinical room and other
supplies

Accepting and documenting samples from patients

Assisting secretary with typing referrals and

- The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate:
- Excellent customer service skills. Previous NHS GP Practice experience is desirable but not essential; We are looking for the right person to join our dedicated team
- Friendly and approachable manner;
- Experience of working in a team;
- Good telephone manner;
- Professionalism;
- A can do attitude;
- Adept in using own initiative when working alone;
- Experience of working in a busy environment;
- The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively whilst staying calm under pressure;
- Has a good understanding of confidentiality;
- Flexibility in working pattern and duties;
- Ability to cope with and manage change;
- Computer literate. SystmOne and Accurx familiarity is desirable but training will be provided.
