Job summary
Our multidisciplinary team
supports people experiencing alcohol/drug use and co-occurring difficulties to
receive high quality care. We are looking for an HCPC registered Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to help us to develop our psychology and
trauma-informed service. This post offers opportunities for flexible working.
Part time hours would also be considered for the right candidate. The post will
be working across Nottinghamshire but can be based at one of the 3 service hubs
across the county (Worksop/Mansfield/Hucknall).
This forms part of the new and
exciting Housing Team. This team is taking a test and learn approach to look at
how we can best support people accessing substance use services, where there is
an additional housing need. It is recognised that many of the people we work
with experience a combination of challenges in their lives (substance use,
mental health issues, housing issues, criminal justice involvement, domestic
violence; we refer to this Severe Multiple Disadvantage). Within Nottinghamshire
CGL is committed to the MEAM approach (Making Every Adult Matter) in supporting
those with Severe Multiple Disadvantage. This focusses on recognising the impact of trauma, appreciating
and utilising those with lived experience, looking at where we as services can
be more flexible, and identifying where the systems we work in need to be
changed.
Main duties of the job
Our model emphasises physical, psychological, and emotional safety and helps people to rebuild a sense of control and empowerment in their lives and in their communities. As part of our team, you would have the freedom to work flexibly and creatively to establish what's needed to have the most positive impact for people who use services.
You will help to develop and lead the new psychology service within the housing support team, ensuring that psychological perspectives are central to everyone's thinking. You will support the empowerment of teams and individuals to increase knowledge, skills, and professional confidence around the needs of the people who access our services. Through consultancy, reflective practice, team formulation, training, and clinical case management, you will help the wider team create an innovative and effective trauma-informed service.
Our national Psychology Directorate provides connection, peer support, reflective practice and CPD relevant to psychology. Regular clinical supervision will be provided by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. If you're a team player who shares our organisational values of being bold, compassionate, and open, this could be the role for you.
