We have an exciting opportunity for a Prison In-Reach Recovery Coordinator;who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.
As a prison in-reach worker you will be based mainly at HMP Norwich (possibility of needing to visit other prison's within the Norfolk area) working with individuals with drug and alcohol concerns. You will also help bridge the gap between individuals being released from prison and going into structured treatment and support with Change Grow Live.
No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key.

Hours: 37.5 Hours per week
Salary: CGL Scale 23 28 - £26,393.77 - £30,316.74 dependent on experience
Main duties of the job
- The Prison In-Reach Worker will act as the main coordinator providing comprehensive assessments; Coordinate the resettlement plan from prison by liaising with relevant agencies
- The post holder will be the navigator for these interventions, and advocate on behalf of the service user.
- Reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users and the wider community
- Promoting carer, service user and community involvement
- Providing advocacy for access to partnership services
- Working with service users to support social (re)integration, enabling them to lead meaningful and purposeful lives: promoting recovery, resilience, peer support and self-determination
- Carry out comprehensive service user assessments, including mapping of community resources and develop individual action plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing offending/substance use and re/integrating into the community
- Work closely with prison security departments when assessing risk and develop strong links with partner agencies within the prison system
- Work as part of a team to identify people who have a history of substance misuse and reoffending resulting in custodial sentences

- Knowledge of the criminal justice system.
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills.
- Knowledge of anti-social behaviour legislation.
- A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group, e.g. mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups, etc.
- Experience of working within substance misuse services.
- Willingness to undertake full prison vetting and clearance.
- Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
