Job summary

As a Recovery Coordinator working within local GP surgeries and the community you will provide support to people that have been identified as requiring help with addressing their alcohol use. You will deliver a range or interventions and provide a package of holistic support to help build resilience and improve peoples ability to achieve their goals and build recovery.

You will be working closely with GPs and healthcare professionals to meet the needs of many people who currently do not access our service.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide psycho-social interventions within the primary care setting to those who are not currently accessing the core CGL Cambridgeshire hubs
  • Work collaboratively with the professionals in GP settings to provide support to those with alcohol and/or substances use issues
  • Work with the professionals in Primary Care and CGL to ensure the people we support have regular health checks including BBVs and other relevant screenings where required
  • Provide follow up support in the community

Job responsibilities

This new initiative to Cambridgeshire is aimed at supporting people who may not access our mainstream services. This project is also to provide support to healthcare professionals in GP settings to engage those who need this support.

As the Recovery Co-ordinator (GP Surgeries and Community) Worker you will work as part of the Change Grow Live Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service.

This post will work in partnership with the Primary Care Networks in Cambridgeshire in order to engage and support those affected by alcohol use.

This team sits within the wider community engagement team at CGL Cambridgeshire but also very much embedded alongside GPs and healthcare professionals.

You will provide support to people that have been identified as requiring help with addressing their alcohol use primarily but will also support with other substance use as required.

You will deliver a range or interventions and provide a package of holistic support to help build resilience and improve peoples ability to achieve their goals and build recovery.

The role requires flexibility and may include some unsociable hours.

This role is County wide.
