We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our dedicated driving team at Hook Surgery for the below contracted shift(s) listed below.
Available shifts
- 3rd Friday of each month 23:00 08:00 and/or
- 3rd Saturday of the month 23:00 08:00
We are looking for applicants with good flexibility who can also pick up additional shifts when needed, including covering adhoc leave and sickness across all required locations.
Please note: We offer a range of shifts throughout the service, starting from 18:00/19:00 on weekdays and 08:00 on weekends. For non overnight shifts, the hourly rate is £12.75 plus a 25% unsocial hours allowance.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the NHUC Values, have strong organisational skills, and be confident using IT systems. You should be able to manage changing demands and priorities while working effectively as part of a team.
Interviews will be held on the 12th February 2026 at our Head Office location in Farnborough.
All successful candidates will be required to complete an external Driving Assessment as part of the recruitment process, and is likely to be held on a weekday in March (date TBC)

Main duties of the job
To drive any vehicle owned, hired, or on loan to North Hampshire Urgent Care (NHUC), for which you are properly licensed, as required.
To carry out equipment checks daily, and report any deficiencies, and replace where necessary.
To carry such goods as instructed and to be responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle and ensuring that goods unloaded are placed in the FPCS/Hook office. This may include, but is not restricted to, emergency equipment, PPE and medications.
To keep the vehicles clean both inside and out. Also ensure workspaces are kept clean and tidy.
If involved in an accident, whether on a road or not, to report the accident to the On-Call Manager as soon as possible and to complete and submit a subsequent report. If the accident occurred on a road, to comply with Road Traffic Legislation.
When a breakdown occurs and if passengers are being carried, to ensure that they are transferred to another vehicle as soon as possible. In all breakdown situations, to comply with "breakdown procedures".
Not to convey unauthorised persons in NHUC vehicles.
To ensure that all journeys are made by the shortest, safest route for the type of vehicle unless otherwise instructed. To have the ability to read a map and navigate to known locations. Under no circumstances are Drivers to take vehicles off route or home unless authorised to do so.

SDC provides services through the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) contract which covers the in Hours Clinical Assessment Service (CAS) and Out of Hours (OOH) provision for North Hampshire, North East Hampshire and Farnham (NEHF) and Surrey Heath places which are part of the Hampshire and the Isle of Wight ICB and Frimley ICB respectively. We also provide Urgent Treatment Centres at the front doors of both Basingstoke and Frimley Park Hospital whilst also holding some smaller contacts supporting Community Hospitals OOH and Flu response. Finally, SDC has a virtual care arm supporting patients at home.
TalkPlus provide NHS Talking Therapies, supporting people with common mental health problems in Northeast Hampshire and Farnham place. TalkPlus offers a range of treatments to people who are experiencing symptoms of stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, panic, phobias or OCD. TalkPlus has care pathways to provide timely treatment for perinatal and military veteran referrals.
