An innovative and exciting opportunity has arisen in our Kent and Sussex Community based Dermatology Service. We are looking for an experienced Independent Nurse Prescribers to join our Nurse led remote prescribing service. Currently the team comprises of 9 Nurse Prescribers and 4 coordinators .
The successful candidates will be registered INP who are currently practicing and holding clinics independently. Dermatology experience essential. Clinics to be undertaken will be , Isotretinoin monitoring, Systemic and Biologic medication reviews.
The post holders will be an experienced clinical nurses and registered Independent Nurse Prescribers. They will demonstrate safe clinical decision making and expert care. As an INP they will work closely with the remote clinic and medical team to meet the needs of the service users, ensuring there is a focus on reflection, best practice, nursing competencies and professional development in line with the nursing strategy and always adhering to the 4 pillars of Nursing Practice, Education, Leadership, research and clinical practice.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality nursing care as directed by the lead nurse, consultants and doctors
Effective communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers.
Have appropriate clinical and professional insight to acknowledge own clinical boundaries and limitations.
To work within the NMC code of practice
Ensure updated knowledge and Continued Professional development is maintained
Good knowledge of physical and psychological needs of patients. Good knowledge of skin A&P, the disease area, knowledge of topical and systemic side effects, knowledge of psychological effects.
Record keeping as directed by Organisation and NMC directive.
To maintain membership of the BDNG
Maintain a professional portfolio and reflective practice participating in life- long learning for self and others.
Assist with clinically approved research, teaching and clinical courses. Use a variety of learning materials from a wide range of sources
Obtain patient feedback and action plan to improve the service
Work autonomously and responsibly for the safe and appropriate use of clinic equipment and resources
To provide adequate information/health promotion to enable patients to make informed decision about their condition, treatment and self- management.
Ensure confidentiality and adherence to Data Protection is maintained
To attend staff meetings face to face minimum of twice yearly and post graduate meetings remotely
