gtd healthcare is one of the largest NHS commissioned Primary and Urgent care providers in North West England. We have an excellent opportunity for a Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) Lead to come onboard on a part time basis.
As the NMP Lead, you will lead the development of non-medical prescribing within gtd healthcare; You will act as a source of expertise to senior management in relation to all aspects of non-medical prescribing.
The post holder will participate in and lead change for the benefit of patients and/or the organisation across primary care, specialist services, urgent care and out of hours.
The NMP Lead is responsible for the governance, safety, development and oversight of non-medical prescribing, ensuring practice is safe, effective, and compliant with legal, professional, and organisational standards.
You will be a key member of the senior clinical team, identifying opportunities to innovate and work differently to meet the demands of the changing healthcare environment.
The NMP Lead will also be supported by the Nursing & Allied Health professional directorate which consist of a blend of specialists and generalist leads overseen by our Director and Heads of Nursing & Allied Health professionals.
This role is 15 hours per week, hours of work to be worked across 2-4 days between Monday to Sunday, hybrid working model, pattern to be agreed.
Main duties of the job
- Be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the NMP strategy ensuring that the development of non-medical prescribing is planned appropriately in the medium and long term to meet service needs.
- With reference to national guidance ensure that the Non-Medical Prescribing Policy meets the needs of all services across the organisation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures relating to non-medical prescribing, alongside the recognised competency framework.
- Co-ordinate the development and provision of an evidence-based programme of education and clinical supervision for non-medical prescribers and assist in training NMPs.
- Contribute to and support local ICB processes and polices which directly influence gtd healthcare.
- Work closely with the Clinical Service Managers in the various localities to support the delivery of NMP policy and procedures.
- Ensure service and individual non-medical prescribing audits are taking place across the organisation and are reported via the governance audit schedule.
