gtd healthcare is one of the largest, not-for-profit, NHS commissioned primary and urgent care providers in North West England. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Nurse Associate to join our friendly and supportive primary care team at Hattersley Group Practice.
We are a busy but friendly Practice, dedicated to serving our registered patients across the Hyde community for over 25 years. Our practice is conveniently located close to the M67, offering excellent transport links and free on-site parking for staff.
The Nurse Associatewill be joining a small, close-knit team of dedicated clinicians and administrative staff who work collaboratively to provide high-quality, patient-centred care.
As a high QOF- achieving practice with excellent infection prevention and control (IPC) standards, we take pride in delivering consistent, evidence based care, meeting high quality benchmarks.
We have strong links with the Hyde Primary Care Network (PCN) providing additional opportunities for profession support and shared leaning. Our Patient Participation Group (PPG) plays an important role in shaping our services, helping us to maintain a truly patient centre approach.

Main duties of the job
- Work as part of the nursing workforce supporting registered nurses and other clinicians in delivering high quality, safe, person-centred and compassionate care to patients.
- Deliver safe, evidence based nursing care to patients across the practice population and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team within the standards of proficiency outlined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council and in accordance with organisation's policies and protocols.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide support/guidance to less experienced staff/learners within the clinical environment as needed.
- Act within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a multi-disciplinary team within general practice and the Primary Care Network (PCN).
- Contribute to providing nursing care to patients registered in the GP practices.
- Focus on assuming a lead role in specified areas, and contribute to maintaining QOF achievements and QC compliance to support quality health outcomes, including health promotion and the well-being of our patients.
- Work with other members of the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to both organise and facilitate care appropriate to the individual needs of the patients.
- Uphold the practice's high IPC standards through safe and consistent clinical practice.

You will be providing care to people of all ages, in a busy and diverse practice, contributing to core nursing roles and responsibilities, supporting the registered nurses to allow them to focus on more complex clinical care.
Following appropriate training, the following competency-based skills maybe undertaken by qualified nursing associates working within general practice:
- Adult and child Immunisation under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Live nasal flu vaccines under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Travel vaccines under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Shingles vaccine under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Pneumococcal vaccine under a Patient Specific Direction.
- B12 injections under a Patient Specific Direction.
- Cervical Screening undertaking the role of cervical sample taker (in line with Public Health guidance on training requirements).
- Taking of ECGs
- Phlebotomy including home visits if required (the correct indemnity and car insurance will be required).
- Monitoring of long-term conditions - QOF related reviews of complex patients.
- Participate in clinical and non-clinical audit.
