gtd healthcare are investing in the Trainee Advanced Clinical Practice programme as part of growing our own ACP workforce. We have exciting opportunities to work within our urgent care services at Royal Preston and Chorley Hospitals and treatment Centre based in Oldham.
As a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner, you will be funded to undertake your MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice at an allocated university and follow a structured programme to enable you to become an autonomous practitioner.
To facilitate your learning, gtd healthcare will provide the relevant mentorship, support and guidance from senior medical and non-medical clinicians within our multidisciplinary team who will empower you to become competent and confident emerging ACP.
Additionally, we have a network of highly skilled ACPs from a diverse clinical background (pharmacy, physiotherapy, paramedic, and nursing) who support the trainee programme. You will be able gain skills, knowledge and experience by working within this team of clinicians as they support your development along your learning journey.
To support your development, you will be allocated 15 hours protected time per week to attend university and undertake placements to progress in all four pillars of advanced practice. You will also be able to access further learning opportunities / teaching sessions via gtd healthcare Academy to enhance your knowledge and skills within key areas.
Main duties of the job
- Assess and holistically clinically examine patients with both minor and complex needs through history taking, physical examination and appropriate use of investigations to confirm diagnosis.
- Plan, implement and evaluate an effective management plan for the patient, ensuring safe discharge/referral and/or transfer to an appropriate health care service. Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles, to ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
- If you are employed in a prescribing capacity, you must only do this if qualified and competent to do so. This applies to those practitioners with V300 qualification, who have active registration with the NMC or the practitioners professional regulatory body.
- You must maintain your knowledge and skills with regards to prescribing and administration of drugs, keeping up to date with any changes, alerts, recalls and other reasonable professional knowledge.

Clinical Practice
