Job summary
Gordon Street Medical Centre Salaried GP £90,500 to £100,750 per annum / £10,056 to £11,194 per session
gtd healthcare is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated salaried GP to join our small team providing care for our 4,800 patients at Gordon Street Medical Centre. We're looking for a GP, experienced or newly qualified who is keen to be part of a larger organisation as well as a smaller practice team and to work 3 - 4 sessions per week on Wednesdays and Fridays. Working additional sessions across our Tameside practices could also be considered.
Our practice population is diverse and multi-cultural with a strong community spirit. A high percentage of our patients face deprivation, multi-morbidity and mental health issues which makes for an interested and varied role with many opportunities to make a difference.
The successful candidate will form strong therapeutic relationships with their patients whilst also providing safe evidence based clinical care. You will be part of a busy and proactive team working alongside clinical and non-clinical members of the team and the wider organisation.
We pride ourselves on developing our staff and as a training practice we offer a wealth of opportunities for your career development. We can support you to become a GP trainer, however as GP in a training practice you will need to possess strong leadership qualities providing support to the GP trainees as well as other clinicians e.g pharmacists.
Main duties of the job
You will provide routine and urgent clinical care for both acute and long term conditions working to local and national guidelines. The daily clinical workload is split equally amongst all clinicians with additional workload kept to a minimum by our excellent care navigation team, who work hard to signpost to the most appropriate of our extensive local community services.
The home visit demand on the practice is generally low and often managed by our and PCN Paramedic team, however there are supportive measures required and you may be required to carry out visits occasionally. We have a practice pharmacist to support GPs with daily medicines management requests and reviews. All practice clinical admin (e.g. secondary care documents, path lab reports, patient nhs forms) is shared between clinicians daily.
A typical day is structured with 15 minute appointments as standard (except for follow ups/results) with 2/3rds of the session being clinical and 1/3rd clinical admin. Sessions are 4 hours 10 minutes. Non NHS work is also a requirement of the role, however this is remunerated as additional income to the base salary.
You will need to possess strong leadership qualities providing support to the ACP trainees as well as other clinicians e.g pharmacist and PCN paramedics.
You will be expected to work with the team to continually strive to improve standards of care and, in particular, achieve QoF targets and KLOE objectives as outlined by CQC.
