Job summary

This position is a BANK post, with no fixed hours.

The purpose of this role is to support clinical and non-clinical staff by undertaking reception and or administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of SCA services.

The shifts available are out of hours - evenings and weekends.

Flexibility is essential to ensure the services can run effectively.

Full training will be provided and successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide administrative support as required
  • To provide reception cover
  • To assist the clinical team
  • To provide support to the Supervisors/Service lead on site

Job responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administrative

1.1 Providing general administrative support

1.2 Greeting patients, assist and direct them accordingly.

1.3 Monitoring the appointment system.

1.4 Answering telephones to patients and other healthcare professionals.

1.5 Booking cases onto the clinical system and monitor the activity and take appropriate action where necessary.

1.6 Completing excel spreadsheets, stock and safety checks.

1.7 Provide general support to the clinical team, ensuring timely completion of all tasks requested, including dealing with prescriptions and referring patients for home visits.

1.8 Ensure all incidents and potential risks are reported in line with company policy and procedures.

2. General

2.1 Ensure patient safety is at the centre of everything you do.

2.2 Be proactive and take accountability for own actions and tasks completed.

2.3 Contribute to the effectiveness of the team, by reflecting own performance and suggesting ways to improve and enhance the service.

2.4 Ensure reception area and consulting rooms are left tidy, free of trip hazards and if appropriate, have been cleaned after each session.

2.5 Communicate effectively with other team members, clinical staff and patients.

2.6 Follow all policies, standards and guidance.

  • 1.1Previous experience in a customer service setting.
  • 1.2Telephone and call handling experience.

  • 1.4Ability to work under pressure whist maintaining a positive outlook.
  • 1.5Good level of general education 3 GCSEs Grades A* to C or equivalent.
  • 1.6Strong numeracy skills.
