Job summary
Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance (PPCA) in conjunction with Primary Care practices in Portsmouth are looking to create Portfolio Salaried GP opportunities in the Portsmouth area.

More and more GPs are looking into alternative options outside of working full time in general practice. Working as a portfolio GP you will have the opportunity to develop your career in a way that speaks to your specific interest and life goals.
Portsmouth Primary Care Alliance is an organisation made up of Portsmouth City practices, working in collaboration with the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board.
We are working with general practice to provide unique placements for enthusiastic salaried General Practitioners in a variety of settings including sexual health, palliative care and mental health.
Main duties of the job
Clinical responsibilities
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within a primary care practice setting.
In accordance with an agreed timetable the post holder will deliver excellent quality care including associated administration.
When working at each site, the post-holder would be expected to work in alignment with that surgery's usual working practices.
Other responsibilities within the organisation
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g., prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
Attending training and events organised by the Alliance or other agencies, where appropriate.
This job plan may require a review with changes to the needs of the organisation or the patients from time to time. There are fixed and variable session opportunities, but some flexibility may be needed to meet the needs of the organisation.

The post holder will have access to significant opportunities to work as a locum within Portsmouth Primary Care Services.
To work with the development of new, innovative services within the wider Integrate Care System.
