Job summary

Welcome to FCMS!

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Individual to develop their career within our Emergency Dental Service.

We are looking for a person who enjoys urgent dental care/the unexpected elements of dentistry but will take satisfaction from the management/compliance side of dentistry. Whilst still assisting in the

direct provision of oral health care, you will primarily be involved with providing non-clinical support to the organisation. You will oversee the day to day running of our busy urgent care service in Blackpool.

  • £13.78 per hour
  • 37 hour working week with flexibility on days worked to suit you and the services needs. As we are an out of hours care provider, the role will involve some of your hours to be during clinic times to support the team and service and provide visible management.
  • One nursing session per week- included within the 37-hour contract.
  • Agile working: 1 day per week - option of home working.
  • Participate in paid on-call support during clinic time.
  • Job role:
    • Senior Dental Nurse duties- managing the Out of Hours dental team at Whitegate Drive Health Centre.
    • Rota Lead- Overseeing rosters at all EDS sites.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely and collaboratively with the senior nurses for our other sites, to assist us in the effective and efficient running of our services. You will be the line manager to the team at Blackpool, involved in recruitment, staff training and development/appraisals and clinical governance processes. You will be involved with service development, and not be afraid to think outside the box and suggest new ways of working which improve service delivery.

You will work as a team to manage Rotas for all sites, supported by an admin team, ensuring we have clinical cover in place and any areas of concern you will be proactive in problem solving, and highlight urgently to the service lead where further support is needed. You must be a person who is considerate, caring, and confident talking to staff, have strong negotiating skills, whilst being aware of potential burnout.

To facilitate your understanding of the service, and to build good communication links with the team, you will provide one session of weekly clinical cover as part of your 37-hour working week.
