We are looking for someone to support the management accountant in the preparation and analysis of monthly management information and other ad hoc projects.

Main duties of the job

In this role youll gain experience in a wide range of areas including reconciliations, month end reporting and budgeting. The successful candidate will therefore be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and have a keen eye for detail. You will be supported in actively studying for a professional qualification (AAT/CIMA).

No experience is required for this role as full training will be given on the job.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Above all else to ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Finance Standard Operating Procedures (FSOP).

Support the finance team in preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts.

Accurately prepare and input financial information such as provision, accrual and prepayment journals into the general ledger.

Analysis of month end results with interrogation of data to provide meaningful information on variances to budget.

Perform a variety of balance sheet reconciliations and support the development and improvement of existing control and accounting processes.

To assist in excellent data quality assurance by ensuring correct nominal codes are used for transactions.

Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedule.

Provide financial information to non-finance and finance colleagues as required.

Aid in the development of management reporting.

Support ongoing ad hoc project work within the finance team as and when required.

Support the finance team in providing evidence required for audits.

Support the budgeting and forecast process.

Support the rest of the team when needed.

Undertake any other ad-hoc general duties as required and agreed within the finance office.

Whilst there are no specific qualifications required for the role, we do ask that the candidate:

Is IT literate; confident working with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and has robust keyboard skills. Advanced Excel skills or an aptitude for working with Excel with a willingness to learn advanced skills would be beneficial.

Is an enthusiastic person with a strong energy drive and professional can-do attitude.

Is keen to learn and views the role as both a learning opportunity and an opportunity to make a difference with the work that they do. A study package will be provided for a professional accounting qualification such as AAT or CIMA.
