As a Volunteer
Patient Safety Partner (PSP), you will play an important role in helping
Independent Health Group (IHG) deliver safer, more effective care. You will
work alongside staff and patients to ensure that the patient voice is heard in
decisions about safety and quality. This role involves attending meetings,
contributing to discussions, and helping shape improvements in patient care.
The role is suitable
for all individuals with a broad interest in patient experience / safety.
You will be
reimbursed for reasonable expenses and receive a payment for attending meetings
as part of your involvement in the role.

General Tasks
Tasks may include some or all of the
following:
Gather

travel to Head Office (expenses reimbursed)

Skills and
experience:

strong interest in patient safety and experience
Clear
written and verbal communication skills
Ability
to understand and interpret reports and data
Confidence
to speak with staff at all levels
Ability
to represent broader patient perspectives
Experience
in health advocacy or service improvement is beneficial
Training:
Mandatory
training will be provided
A
named staff member will offer induction, guidance, and ongoing support

of Volunteers:
Commit
to approximately one day per month (can be split across days)
Raise
any concerns with staff for appropriate support
Engage
fully with the role and follow IHG policies and procedures
Maintain
confidentiality and uphold data protection standards
Act
as a critical friend offering constructive feedback
Bring
in wider community perspectives to inform decisions
Help
identify and promote proactive improvements in patient safety
