Job summary

Working as part of the Quality Team, the Safeguarding Support Officer will be responsible for developing, reviewing and updating active safeguarding cases assessing support from and working in tandem with the Safeguarding Lead when required.

Main duties of the job

Day to day, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Management of operational safeguarding cases, ensuring timely follow up procedures and first line advice for staff requiring any support regarding processes and procedures.
  • Providing and being in receipt of highly complex, sensitive and confidential information in relation to safeguarding.
  • Facilitating and supporting staff in the accurate completion of all safeguarding documentation.
  • To liaise closely with other health and social care professionals, police and legal departments to ensure that a co-ordinated approach and high-quality care is provided, including attendance at case conferences and reviews on in a deputised capacity for the Safeguarding Lead if appropriate.
  • To assist staff with day-to-day safeguarding and domestic abuse issues acting in a consultative and advisory capacity alongside the Safeguarding Lead.
  • To complete detailed audits addressing the Government's goals for children in relation to Safeguarding, Domestic Abuse, the Childrens Act 1989/2004 and the Care Act 2014.
  • Work independently through the reporting system (Datix) ensuring all cases are received and outcomes are clearly documented.

  • An ability to contribute to the development of key reports such as Medvivo's annual Quality Account.
