Job summary
IntraHealth are currently recruiting for a Salaried General Medical Practitioner to help deliver our vision of high-quality medical services at our well-established, progressive, friendly practice team in West Cornforth.
We are progressive and dynamic, embracing new technology and new ways of working ranging from daily telephone triage to video and e-consultations. We offer a flexible approach to division of roles and responsibilities within our small friendly and experienced practice team. The clinical teams are also well supported by an excellent administration and management team; this allows our GPs to concentrate on clinical work. You will be a team player who is keen to support and contribute to our program of continuous improvements and monthly clinical meetings and work with us to ensure we maintain our high QOF results. You will support the manager in PCN and ICB meetings and participate in audits and other work assigned to the practice.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core PMS/APMS contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
- Provide other personal medical services to meet identified patients need.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation.
- Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
- Work within current CCG policy for prescribing.
- Be available and accessible to patients at all times as agreed.
- Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to an agreed standard.
- Compile and issue computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
- Undertaken all duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. (These duties would include reports/cremation forms. The fees for this work would be retained within the practice budget).
- To take part in, and lead on, areas including health research, clinical auditing and data collection.
