Job summary
As a SAIS Improving Uptake Officer, the
post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective
service, supporting managers, clinical and
administrative staff across the programme. The primary role will be to ensure
an uptake in vaccinations in the appropriate cohorts of school aged children,
whether in school or home schooled.
This post is to provide additional
resource to support programmes to drive uptake up and is supplemental to the
main service.
The post holder will focus on improving
the uptake of SAI across the programme specified locality/geography.
In particular, the post holder will:
Work with
colleagues in schools with low uptake to drive uptake up.
Work with
colleagues in PCN/GP practices to ensure individuals vulnerable to
non-participation are supported to access catch up immunisations
Work with
community groups/individuals vulnerable to non-participation to improve
awareness of immunisations and access to immunisation programmes offering
information in accessible format, attending community events.
Work on a kit
of supporting material to increase uptake including, but not limited to,
improving materials to support schools, video to support use of eConsent by
parents, a positive recorded webinar/ presentation to dispel vaccination myths
and translated materials
Main duties of the job
To
provide pro-active and outward/public facing support to the SAIS team in the
improvement of SAI uptake across the programme.Improving
quality and outcomes
To be an integrated member of the
SAIS team and wider service who actively initiates new and contributes to
existing improving uptake projects (by the SAIS service or local partners),
ensuring that a quality service is provided to all service users.
Focuses on reducing health
inequalities by developing and contributing to interventions by the service
and external partners to improve uptake of SAI by groups vulnerable to
non-participation.
Actively supports the SAIS team and
contributes to achieving key performance indicators
Actively engages with system
partners to improve SAI uptake, providing key knowledge of immunisation
programmes
Uses evidence and learns from best
practice across the region and further afield (including other SAIS programmes)
to inform work.
Continually maintains records to be
able to produce timely quarterly SAI Uptake reports) and end of year reports
which contribute to the overall service annual report
Produce regular reports as
required to meet the needs of the project and to adapt and amend these
reports as the needs of the service change

in non-responders/lack of return of consent forms (show tracked evidence)
An
evidence-based understanding of why the local eligible population chooses
not to accept the offer of immunisation in school to inform and improve
future commissioning and service provision.
