Job summary
Our Ideal candidate will have experience of primary
care and Phlebotomy work but training will be given and there must be a willingness
to play a leading role in the development of patient centred services. You will be an enthusiastic, committed
individual who will be expected to work as part of the practice team with good
communication and interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The post holder works under indirect
supervision of the practice nurse team leader and undertakes task and duties
delegated by the practice nurse team leader or a suitably qualified regulated
professional. They will collaboratively
with general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and
procedures. Supervision can also be provided by the HCA team as deemed
appropriate.

- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Basic computer experience.
Desirable
- Willingness to undertake an NVQ or an equivalent qualification
- Undertake Care Certificate

- Competent in basic health care duties required for the post
Desirable
- Primary Care experience but not essential
- Experience of computer software
Knowledge and skills

- Manual dexterity and manipulation skills
- Fitness to do the job within manual-handing policy
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of the needs of the patient and the role of the Phlebotomist
- Willing to develop clinical skills and competency relevant to the role e.g. phlebotomy skills
- Able to communicate routine information that requires tact and persuasive skills, or where there may be barriers to understanding
- Ability to communicate effectively via telephone or group discussion
- Good interpersonal skills
- Participate in the care of equipment
- Undertake stock control
- Must either be Hepatitis B immune or be willing to undergo an immunisation course
