We're recruiting an Interim Head of Digital and Technology to lead purposeful modernisation while keeping our 24/7 digital foundations secure, reliable and resilient. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and sitting on our Extended Leadership Team, you'll have real scope to shape priorities, bring clarity to risk and assurance, and build momentum across the organisation.We reserve the right to close this vacancy once enough suitable applications have been received.

Main duties of the job

Who we're looking for

This is a senior, high-autonomy role with clear accountability for outcomes that materially affect service delivery and organisational risk. You'll bring:

  • Senior digital/technology leadership experience with organisation-wide impact.
  • Strong operational IT leadership, including service continuity in complex or 24/7 environments.
  • Pragmatic use of recognised frameworks (for example ITIL, PRINCE2 or equivalent).
  • Experience translating strategy into clear, prioritised plans and delivering improvements.
  • Budget, contract and supplier management with a value-for-money mindset.
  • Strong understanding of information governance, data protection and cyber security in regulated environments.
  • Experience providing clear assurance on performance, risk and compliance to senior leaders and/or Boards.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.

Desirable: experience in healthcare, primary care or a similarly regulated public service environment, and/or understanding of NHS or NHS-adjacent contexts.

  • Shaping and delivering BrisDocs digital and technology strategy, aligned to organisational priorities and growth ambitions.
  • Defining a clear digital, data and technology architecture, backed by a realistic, costed roadmap.
  • Keeping BrisDocs infrastructure secure, reliable and resilient, supporting 24/7 service delivery.
