Job summary

The role is to assist Physiotherapists in the treatment of patients and providing treatment under the supervision of the Physiotherapists.

Assist in the safe and effective running of the Hydrotherapy Centre, Rehab Hub and individual treatment areas. Including administrative tasks, retrieving patient records, making follow up appointments and taking payments as and when required.

Main duties of the job

The role will include supporting our Physiotherapists in providing a high quality, comprehensive service to all patients and users, ensuring a high standard of a patient care is maintained in a clean and safe environment.

Job responsibilities

Undertake routine tasks related to individuals health and well being.

Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals health and wellbeing need.

Establish and maintain communication with people on routine care matters.

Assists the Physiotherapy Team to carry out delegated physiotherapy duties, including patient treatment under direct supervision of a Physiotherapist, or by instruction from a physiotherapist.

To assist the Physiotherapists in hydrotherapy by preparing patients to enter the pool, maintaining a safe environment, including pool testing and maintenance, whilst assisting with patient treatment as required. Also assist in the transfer of patients with restricted mobility.

Maintaining adequate stock levels in the centre and wards ensuring items and equipment is available for patient needs.

Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.

Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.

To maintain standards of infection control within the hospital and own department and to assist patients to maintain their own infection control needs.

To ensure that Clinical Governance and risk management are embedded within daily practice.

  • Whilst no formal qualifications are required you must be able to communicate with other members of staff and patients clearly and your personal appearance must be of a high standard, expected in a professional healthcare environment.

Experience

Essential

  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Competent in computer and IT skills.
  • Ability to deal with problem solving and demonstrate skills of good communication.
  • Experience of working in a patient facing environment.
  • Experience in basic nursing care, health and safety and hygiene.
  • Ability to work effectively as a part of a team with a flexible approach to work and working patterns.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good numerical skills.
  • Ability to be proactive, empathetic, mange sensitive situations, be adaptable and be aware of own limitations.
  • English language to IELTS 7.0.
  • Basic financial awareness.
