Job summary
The
Post of Charge Nurse at Riverdale Grange is a nursing Team Leader role. The
Charge Nurse acts to support the Ward Manager in ensuring the delivery of
excellence in the care and treatment of patients with eating disorders and
their families. The post holder is accountable to the ward manager and will
assume the duties of the ward manager in their absence. The charge nurse is responsible
for ensuring the delivery of clinical standards of care in line with clinical
strategy. This post requires a person
with drive and commitment who is able to deliver and sustain change in the
pursuit of patient centred, quality, care. The post of charge nurse will support,
teach, and lead nurses and support workers in cohesive and empathic approaches
with patients which promote recovery and independence
Main duties of the job
Role
Context:
The post holder will work as a member of the multidisciplinary
team within either the Adolescent or Adult mental health service. They will
be responsible for delivering a high standard of nursing care to patients and
their families. The post holder will demonstrate empathic
understanding, compassion and positive regard in maintaining the ethos of the
ward and values of the hospital.
The basis
of the role will be to lead the nursing team in the development and
maintenance of a therapeutic environment which supports patients in making
positive changes. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will
support and uphold a recovery focussed structured programme of treatment.

disorder service.

holder will be required to lead a team within a shift context, managing the
ward in the absence of the ward manger.

will join the MDT and will be required to provide support and supervision to
