Remuneration:

£ 32- 38k dependent on experience (80-95k WTE)

Hours of work:

Part-time - 15 hours per week.

Responsible to:

Clinically supervised by Chief Nurse, NCL ICB. Day-to-day line management provided by Executive Lead, NCL Training Hub

Location:

48 Station Road, London, N22 7TY may be required to travel across sites within NCL and London.

Main duties of the job

The Clinical Director N&AHP will oversee and directly participate in transformational work for example:

Delivering priorities for primary care workforce development across North Central London. This means brining clinical leadership and expertise to shape and deliver primary care programmes across NCL, including through interpretation and implementation of National and Regional policy in this space. Specifically focusing on nurses and allied health professionals and identifying suitable funding wherever possible.

Supporting the development of a network of clinical and professional leaders in primary care. This includes the development of professional leadership, and integrated working across Training Hub and GP Provider Alliance (GPPA). Working closely with the ICB they will drive delivery of workforce priorities including the development of career pathways and opportunities in primary care. Also developing professional and public understanding of new roles in general practice and ensuring there are sustainable plans for practice teams (especially for nursing given ongoing challenges in this space, and for non-clinical roles).

Ensuring the Training Hub is well-connected to and collaborating with system partners including connection to Chief Nurses Network, AHP Council, ICB Clinical Leadership team as well as the wider workforce in practices, networks and federations.

About us

This role is part of NCL Training Hub, hosted by Haringey GP Federation, and is an opportunity to join a growing team aimed at developing our health and social care workforce in North Central London. The North Central London (NCL) Training Hub is a network of multidisciplinary primary care teams, community providers, and social care providers. Training Hubs receive core funding from Health Education England, but we also have extra commissions from NHS England & Improvement and Local Authorities.

The NCL Training Hub has been established to enhance training, education, and workforce development with specific focus on enhancing the recruitment of new, and retention of current, staff. The NCL Training Hub has developed innovative educational and workforce initiatives for primary, community and social care. During 2021-22, these innovative models have been shortlisted and won national awards, including from HSJ and shortlisted for Nursing Times.

Professional leadership will come from the CMO CNO and deputy directors, and strong peer support will be fostered through cross-borough fora and networks.

Providing clinical direction and assurance, and supporting the redesign of standard approaches, pathways and interventions to transform services and improve patient outcomes.

Supporting and/ or leading any other programme or project across NCL to help manage conflicts of interest and or to provide wider clinical input, partnering with other clinical leads, undertaking peer support and/ or providing advice, guidance and/or an independent perspective.

Engaging with NCL primary care team and the wider Directorate, and borough-based primary care teams, community services, mental health and social care interfaces, the GP provider alliance representatives, and other relevant clinical networks.

Supporting and maintaining a culture of collaboration, leading and inspiring clinicians, care professionals, managers and other staff to implement changes to health and care services across NCL by fostering and participating in a community of multi-professional leaders across NCL.
