Job summary

Job Title: Clinical Educator (Registered Nurse) NCL Clinical Education Team

Hours of work: 37.5 Mon - Fri (The team work from the office 1 day per week with their other days out delivering training)

We can consider alternative working patterns to support maintaining clinical/patient facing experience

Contract Length: 12 Months Fixed Term - (Secondment available) Possibility of extension and/or permanent roles based on future funding.

Remuneration: £45,000 £55,000.

Responsible to: Clinical Education Team Lead

Accountable to: Programme Manager Social Care

Professional responsibility to the relevant clinical lead within the NCL Training Hub

Main duties of the job

The postholder will join the social care transformation programme as a key member of the multidisciplinary clinical education team based in NCL Training Hub. The team works alongside a team of digital maturity coordinators delivering a large scale improvement programme across Adult Social Care in North Central London.

The postholder will work within a multidisciplinary team of clinical educators responsible for the provision of targeted, high-quality training and education for staff working in Adult Social Care across NCL. The post holder will work across all boroughs within providers and services where there is an identified need for interprofessional learning. Additionally, the post holder may also be required to support new/wider digital or education-based projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced practice educator OR a registered nurse with a passion for social care looking to gain experience in an educator role. The salary offered will reflect experience level.

About us

This role is part of NCL Training Hub, hosted by Haringey GP Federation, and is an opportunity to join a growing team aimed at developing our health and social care workforce in North Central London. The North Central London (NCL) Training Hub is a network of multidisciplinary primary care teams, community providers, and social care providers. Training Hubs receive core funding from Health Education England, but we also have extra commissions from NHS England & Improvement and Local Authorities.

The NCL Training Hub has been established to enhance training, education, and workforce development with specific focus on enhancing the recruitment of new, and retention of current, staff. The NCL Training Hub has developed innovative educational and workforce initiatives for primary, community and social care. During 2021-22, these innovative models have been shortlisted and won national awards, including from HSJ and shortlisted for Nursing Times.

Job responsibilities

Key requirements include:

Lead on the structuring and coordination of selected training and education for ASC across NCL.

Develop and deliver appropriate, quality assured training packages on identified clinical competencies to a range of ASC staff in a range of settings, including training aimed at supporting the embedment of specified digital technology.

Promote and maintain effective communication with ASC stakeholder and disseminate information related to practice development.

Promote and facilitate the provision of a high standard of holistic resident-centred care.

Attend required project/programme meetings and work collaboratively with own line manager on workload/diary management to ensure attendance.

Participate in quality assurance work where required.

Develop, co-ordinate, evaluate, and implement training needs analysis in conjunction with the NCL Training Hub(s) member organizational leads.

Carry out administrative tasks related to clinical education and provision of training as well as other tasks as directed by management within the digital social care space, including supporting the digital maturity team in their delivery.

Record interventions and client contacts on CRM system and utilize the CRM system for social care activities.

Complete appropriate project lifecycle activities including report writing and evaluative tasks in collaboration with Clinical Education Team Lead.
