Main duties of the job

We are running an exciting new project in conjunction with NHSE to support and develop Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) who have recently completed their training or are currently second year or above.

The programme will be informal teaching, based around case studies and open discussion, topics will be wide, and themes will cover the most common presentations seen in primary care. The sessions will be run by the experienced ACP team with visiting clinicians for specialist input. The teaching will have emphasis on the four pillars of advanced practice, managing clinical risk and manging uncertainty.

We are looking for dynamic, creative candidates who have completed a recognised ACP programme to Masters level, be independent prescribers and be currently working within general practice. The ideal candidate will have a wide breadth of knowledge and be competent managing undifferentiated presentations for patients of any age, as well as a sound knowledge of long-term condition management.

The successful candidates will be part of a small innovative team in the pilot phase of the course, developing and delivering the programme, therefore adaptability and flexibility are desirable. The team will be responsible for auditing the progress of the programme and working with NHSE to develop the model in preparation for a wider NCL delivery.
