We are expanding our team and would like to welcome two salaried GPs (5 to 6 sessions) to join our practice. Ideally, the successful candidates would be able to start as soon as possible but we are flexible and willing to wait for the right individuals.

We Offer:

BMA model contract including leave and CPD entitlement

Salary £10,800 to £12,500 per session, per annum,

depending on experience and any additional skills or

responsibilities.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic GP to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care to a diverse community. The role includes providing consultations via face-to-face, telephone and digital platforms, assessing and managing a wide range of acute and chronic conditions, and developing effective treatment plans. You will prescribe safely in line with current guidelines, arrange and interpret investigations, and support preventative care through immunisations, screening and health promotion. The postholder will manage long-term conditions, identify safeguarding concerns, and maintain accurate clinical records. Working closely with our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to coordinated patient care and make appropriate referrals to specialist services. You will also participate in clinical governance, quality improvement and practice meetings, while maintaining professional standards through ongoing learning and development.

Our clinical team currently comprises three GP Partners and four Salaried GPs, supported by a full multidisciplinary team including a pharmacist, visiting paramedic, and GP registrars. We also benefit from a strong and experienced administrative and clinical support team.

We are a high-performing dispensing practice, with over 90% of our patients eligible for dispensing, and dispensaries operating across all three sites.

Mortimer Medical Practice is a well-established, friendly dispensing practice with a growing patient list of approximately 9,000 patients. We operate across three well-equipped sites, including a purpose-built branch surgery. Our main site is located in the village of Kingsland, just five miles north of the market town of Leominster, with additional branch surgeries situated near Ludlow and Craven Arms.

As a GP training practice and Research Ready accredited organisation, we are committed to education, innovation, and continuous improvement. We are part of the North and West Herefordshire Primary Care Network and have been rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

To provide high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the practice population, ensuring the effective diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of medical conditions. The post holder will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, effective, and responsive healthcare services.
