Job summary

We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and patient focused pharmacist on a full time or part time basis to further enhance our friendly experienced team.

Main duties of the job

We will provide flexible shift patterns for pharmacists who want to work part time and will provide training for newly qualified pharmacists and for experienced community pharmacists who might wish to move into the hospital outpatients sector.

About us

Crucible Pharmacy Ltd (CPL) is the new Wholly Owned Subsidiary pharmacy of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We will begin operating on 2/1/24 at the Northern General Hospital site and then from 4/3/24 at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. Both pharmacies are fully re-fitted with the latest in robotic dispensing system technology.

The post holder will act as Responsible Pharmacist in the absence of the Pharmacist Unit Manager and ensure that all activities are consistent with GPhC registration requirements.

They will co-ordinate and contributes to the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy, which will include clinical checks of prescriptions; advice and information to patients and staff; dispensing of hospital outpatient and discharge prescriptions.

Experience

Essential

  • Post-registration experience as a Responsible Pharmacist in a busy community or hospital pharmacy
  • Able to work under pressure in a busy environment
  • NHS Hospital prescribing awareness (formularies, etc.) which may have been achieved through dispensing hospital outpatient scripts or review of discharge prescriptions in community
  • Decisive able to make decisions with limited or ambiguous information

Desirable

  • Experience of leading a team in a busy dispensary environment
  • Hospital pharmacy experience

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Initiative, time management, pragmatic and resilience
  • Leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills must be able to recognise and overcome barriers to understanding
  • Excellent interpersonal skills ability to form positive relationships
  • Reliable, trustworthy and punctual

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent

Desirable

  • Higher degree / Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent postgraduate diploma in specialist area
  • Registered Independent Prescriber
