Job summary

Experienced Optometrist - we are very excited to be recruiting for our fantastic practice at Boots Opticians in Edinburgh St James.

We are currently looking for a full time Optometrist to hit the ground running within a fun, great, fast paced, dynamic and supportive team that strive to put the customer at the heart of what they do.

We have 5 testing rooms in this newly refitted practice filled with luxury brands, benefiting from brilliant equipment including a Phoropter, OCT and Optomap to support us in our journey to provide the best service to our customers and patients.

You will join our amazing team of 35 which includes 7 resident Optometrist with 2 being IP qualified, 1 SDO, 2 CLO and store manager.

The practice is a standalone flagship store, close to the city centre with easily accessible transport link and there is discounted parking in the St James car park.

Main duties of the job

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading clinics and providing specialist care and advice to all patients
  • Testing eyes using the latest technology whilst maintaining outstanding patient care.
  • Delivering enhanced services dependant on the store needs
  • Responding to emergency triages
  • Working with external healthcare professionals
  • Providing clinical support to team members on the shop floor
  • Providing advice to patients using your clinical knowledge
  • Keeping up to date with latest clinical practices.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders
