Location: Truro, Penzance, and Bodmin Days per week: Weekday Evening and weekend shifts Self Employed out of hours Dentist roles:

NON-Bank Holiday

Full day session = £650

day sessions = £325

Truro Health Park only - Evening (2-hour session) = £185

Bank Holidays

Full day session = £975

day session = £487.50

Main duties of the job

Are you a Dentist looking to make a real difference while keeping flexibility in your schedule?

Were expanding our Out-of-Hours team and have exciting opportunities available on a self-employed basis for evening and weekend shifts across Truro, Penzance, and Bodmin, delivering Unscheduled Urgent Dental Care to those who need it most.

Evening Shifts 5:30pm to 7:30pm Weekend Shifts Saturdays & Sundays 8.30am to 4.30pm

Job responsibilities

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Patient Experience

Deliver high-quality unscheduled dental care to NHS patients (adults and children).

Apply current best practice and evidence-based guidance in areas such as:

o Clinical examination and record keeping

o Oral health prevention strategies

o Radiography

o Antimicrobial prescribing

o Management of acute dental conditions

o Dental trauma (adult and paediatric)

o Endodontic emergencies

o Consent and documentation of extractions

o Treatment of patients with complex needs or medical histories

Maintain awareness of referral pathways and patient access routes, including stabilisation clinics.

Provide thorough clinical documentation to support continuity of care.

Treat target numbers of patients efficiently while ensuring excellent patient experience.

Professional Conduct & Standards

Adhere to the standards set out by the General Dental Council (GDC) and maintain full registration without conditions.

Comply with Smile Togethers internal policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.

Maintain appropriate indemnity cover and NHS performer number.

Take personal responsibility for understanding and complying with all relevant codes of conduct and governance frameworks.
