Job summary
Clinical tutors play a crucial role in supporting the development of Clinical Psychology and CAP trainees across their training through planning and monitoring clinical placements, providing advice and support to trainees and supervisors.
There are two roles available as follows:
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (0.4fte) / Clinical Associate Psychology (0.2fte).
Main duties of the job
The roles involve building relationships with trainees and supervisors across the full range of clinical services. For the DClin this is within a specified part of our placement area which covers South Devon, Plymouth, & Cornwall. For CAPs this is further afield, but with a focus on the Southwest.
Contribution to other aspects of programme delivery will also include teaching, assessment, and research supervision. There may also be opportunities to contribute to teaching and research within the broader school.
A significant proportion of both roles can be undertaken through home working. However, there is a requirement to undertake in-person placements visits within a defined placement area (DClin only) and to attend some in-person meetings and events.
Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training, and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement.
About us
The School of Psychology is one of the largest and best-resourced in the UK and is located within a large Faculty of Health.
These positions offer exciting opportunities to be involved in shaping the development of a psychological workforce at a time of significant expansion for both programmes and the psychological workforce more broadly. Please note, applicants can apply for the sessions on one programme (DClin or CAPs) or across both.
Not only are these great jobs, in a great organization, but also in a beautiful location, with opportunities for outdoor pursuits such as cycling, hiking and kayaking as well as sailing, surfing, and other marine activities.
For applicants relocating to the South West and wishing to combine a training role with a clinical post, there are current vacancies across the region. We would also be happy to put you in touch with relevant colleagues in the South West to identify roles that may be suitable.
