Job summary
We are seeking an outstanding individual with an interest in supporting the training and delivery of dental education at Bristol Dental School.
The post holder will be expected to work across both the teaching laboratory, and the Dental Production and areas, to maintain skills and provide support to the delivery of student patient technical work (at certain points over the year).
The post holder will be required to utilise modern dental technology techniques, such as Intra-Oral scanners, using 3d dental design software (e.g. ExoCad, 3Shape, Dentsply) to support teaching, and dental 3d printing and milling machines to produce dental restorations and educational resources.
Main duties of the job
You will provide support to teaching, primarily in the Prosthetics Teaching Suite (PTS), but you may also be required to provide support in the Clinical Skills Suite and other teaching environments across the school, as well as the dental production laboratory. The role will be responsible for supporting and delivering teaching content and contribute to the development of teaching materials.

Essential
- Vocational qualifications (NVQ level 4-5 or equivalent), or formal training/relevant degree,
- plus experience in a relevant role; or significant relevant experience
- Successful completion of appropriate teaching and learning training
- The post requires the holder to hold a BSc (or equivalent) in Dental Technology plus an
- additional postgraduate specialisation qualification in dental technology (HNC, HND, City &
- Guilds Advanced, MSc (or equivalent)).
- Must be registered or qualified to register with the General Dental Council as a Dental
- Technologist (DCP), and have proof of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to comply
- with GDC regulations.

- Appropriate professional teaching registration

- Detailed, current specialist knowledge and refined skills; significant experience in Prosthetics
- but have a good all-round knowledge of dental technology Experience in the design, review
- and implementation of practical teaching

- Excellent IT skills, to include use of IT to enhance teaching and learning, and an ability to learn
- to effectively use new software or IT systems when required
- Experience with modern dental technology techniques, such as model scanning and
- prosthesis design, using 3d dental design software (e.g. ExoCad, 3Shape, Dentsply) to support
- teaching, and produce work for patients.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing
