Job summary

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to deliver a high quality service within a dynamic and rewarding environment. University of Bristol Students Health Serviceis a GP practice for Bristol university students and their dependents.

To apply for the role, you will be an experienced Mental Health Nurse or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a prescribing qualification. Ideally you will have experience or knowledge relevant to working with the student age group.

This is a full-time role working 5 days per week (Monday Friday). We would consider part time applications: please state in your application if you are interested in part time hours. Occasional working on a Saturday or weekday evening, and some cover of university closure days is also required.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the GP and Psychology teams within the practice to support student mental health, liaising with other support agencies, both within the University and in Secondary Care as required.

You will work independently, providing assessment, treatment, and referral of patients predominantly with low mood, anxiety and depression.

You will work with the SHERPA (Student Health Emotional Regulation Pathway) to facilitate group working and assessment.

You will be responsible for carrying out annual reviews for patients on the Mental Health Register.

You will act as an independent nurse practitioner, demonstrating a high level of practice and knowledge whilst participating in direct evidence-based patient care.

Salary: £37,099-£41,732 / £41,732-£46,974 per annum, pro rata for part-time
